McDonald: The family of Michael Kutsch would like to express their gratitude for the ever growing generosity of the people from the Mahoning and Trumbull counties in making the Michael Kutsch Family Fundraiser and Benefit/Spaghetti Dinner a huge success. Over 500 people attended the dinner. Mike is a forty year old father of two young children who is stricken with Huntington’s disease a hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD has slowly diminished his ability to walk, think, talk and reason. He is totally dependent upon others for his care. The donations and assistance from area churches, schools, the local media, organizations and the kindness of local businesses, as well as the support of family members, friends, and people in the community has relieved the Kutsch family of a lot of the insurmountable medical and financial burdens that HD has caused them. The Kutsch family would like to thank the members of the Girard United Methodist Church, the Woodland United Methodist Church, the McDonald High School and their chapter of the Big Brother/Big Sister organization, the fundraiser events held by the Roosevelt Elementary and McDonald High School and many anonymous donors … (the list goes on and on….but every single effort is deeply appreciated}. Words cannot come close to expressing the gratitude and love we feel for everyone who volunteered their time and effort on Mike’s Fundraiser Dinner and those who sent donations on Mike’s behalf. In spite of the economic crises in our country, the charitable spirit of the people in the community is evident. Their generosity, caring, thoughtfulness and support are deeply appreciated and each effort goes a long way in alleviating the hardship family members has endured. We want to thank each and every one of you.
